Who we are
Anvil & Co. — Picture Scan & Hazard Reports (“Anvil”, “we”, “us”) is a field safety application for reporting hazards and incidents, running inspections, completing training, and managing safety records. It is available on the web and as an iPhone and iPad app. Anvil & Co. — Picture Scan & Hazard Reports is operated by Anvil & Co., Tyler D.. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, job title, employee ID, preferred language, and company name, if you create an account.
- Guest sessions — if you use Anvil without an account, we create an anonymous session so your work stays private to your device and workspace.
- Safety content you create — reports, inspections, descriptions, witness names, corrective actions, comments, messages and replies to your safety team.
- Photos, videos and files — media you capture or upload as evidence, training materials and company documents.
- Signatures — drawn digital signatures you apply to reports and training records.
- Training records — course progress, video watch progress, quiz answers and scores, acknowledgments, reviewer sign-offs and certificates.
- Device and usage data — basic technical information (such as device type, browser, and error logs) needed to keep the app working and secure.
Device permissions
Anvil only asks for access when you use a feature that needs it. Camera — to take jobsite photos and videos. Photos — to attach existing media or save reports and certificates. Microphone — to record audio with videos. Location — only if your company enables location on reports. Notifications — to alert you about reports, training and certifications. You can change these at any time in your device settings.
How we use information
- To create, store, and share safety reports, inspections, and training records within your company.
- To generate PDF reports, certificates, and exports you request.
- To notify your safety team and managers about submitted reports and required actions.
- To provide preliminary AI hazard suggestions on photos and videos you submit. These suggestions are reviewed by you and are never a final safety determination.
- To secure the service, prevent misuse, and fix problems.
AI processing
When you run an AI safety review, the images and notes you choose are sent to an AI service solely to produce suggested findings for your report. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Who can see your information
Your data belongs to your company workspace. Access is controlled by role (for example owner, safety admin, manager, supervisor, employee, view-only), and each company’s records are isolated from every other company. Managers and safety administrators in your company can see reports, inspections, and training progress needed to run the safety program. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
Messages and phone numbers
When you text, WhatsApp, or call your safety line from Anvil, your device’s own messaging or phone app sends the message. That communication is handled by your carrier or messaging provider under their own privacy terms.
Offline storage
If you save a report or inspection without signal, it is stored on your device until connectivity returns and is then uploaded automatically. Removing the app or clearing browser data before it syncs will delete unsynced items.
Service providers
We use trusted providers for cloud hosting, database, file storage, authentication, and AI processing. They process data only on our behalf to operate Anvil.
Data retention
Safety reports, inspections, and training records are kept for as long as your company’s workspace is active, because they are often required as compliance records. Original evidence is never overwritten. Guest data stays tied to the guest session on that device.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Files are stored in private storage and shared through time-limited links. Access rules are enforced on our servers, not just in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You may view and update your profile at any time in Account. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account. Because some records belong to your employer’s safety program, deleting certain company records may require your company administrator’s approval. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR.
Children
Anvil is intended for workplace use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be shown in the app.
